Te Koop - 1966 Australian Specs Kombi W/ Camper interior, EUR 55.000

This is a restored to the detail kind of bus. Brought from Paraguay (former country destination) in 2017 and carefully restored until 2020 when it was finished. There are no surprises if you buy this bus, no rust, mechanically sound…etc

The bus was built on the 10th of September 1965 and sent to Paraguay (PG) where it spent all of its life, looking at the M-code it was ordered with some cool ‘dusty condition’ options like the upper engine vents like most of the Australian buses. Other options where safaris, big air filter, dust filters for engine compartment, board load area ceiling, special export equipment, reinforced shock absorbers, front and rear mudflaps and middle and rear seat board panels.

BODYWORK
The bus was completely stripped down and all the rusted or beaten panels were replaced with good reproduction panels. Then the bus was painted in Pearl White over Dove Blue.

MECHANICALS
After all the bodywork and paint was done, the bus was sent to one of the best VW Garage in Spain to get the mechanicals sorted.
The front beam was completely rebuilt with the needed new parts, including center pin kit, new tie rods, one new arm and rebuild spindles, all this assembly was adjusted to factory specs.
The steering box was in good condition, so this bus handles very well.
Rear drive train was also overhauled, with a rebuilt gearbox and rebuilt RGBs.
New German drums were fitted in the front, along with good new cylinders and pads so the bus stops like a champ.
The engine is a rebuilt unit 1.6 DP that pulls very strong and smooth. It is a real pleasure to drive this bus.

INTERIOR
The bus started its life as a kombi but now it sports a very nice and clean camper interior. All the seats and panels were done by a professional upholstery shop and the cabinets by a carpenter. Interior and exterior matches very well. Front and rear seats are the same colour / style. It has a full width rock and roll bed, a dinette table and a buddy seat, next to a cupboard in the back of the passenger seat, that is used to store camping stuff.
The bus is also equipped with from 3-point retractable seat belts for extra safety. Seat belts are beige, so they perfectly match the interior.
