We’re pleased to present a remarkable example of a 1989 Volkswagen T25/T3 Westfalia 1.6L water-cooled diesel camper van. Optioned as a ‘California’ specification means it comes with a plethora of amenities, accommodating up to four occupants.

No expense has been spared in the upkeep of this retro camper throughout its ownership. It has been cherished by four owners since new and has covered a total of 260,000 km (161,000 miles).

Starting with the interior, it features all original furnishings and appliances, including twin gas hobs, a sink, a fridge, an adjustable table and front swivel captain’s chairs. Additionally, the rear bench folds out into a rock-and-roll bed and there is a bed for two occupants in the pop-top, making this camper a 4-berth. All windows have curtains, including a buttoned curtain that separates the rear from the cockpit. Comforts include an Eberspacher heater, Kenwood radio/CD player with Mac Audio speakers and Fiamma sun canopy.

The mains hook-up, water tank, and LPG tank are accessible from the nearside of the vehicle, and the leisure battery is located under the driver’s seat.

Moving to the exterior, the overall condition of this vehicle is great. The body shows minimal signs of age, with only some very minor corrosion on the roofline, the bottom inner edge of the passenger front door, the inner-side to the sliding door, a tiny patch on tailgate sill, and a small paint flake on the black plastic lower front bumper lip.

The underside is in overall great condition with the exception of minor corrosion on the nearside end of sill which has been noted on its recent MOT by ourselves.

The vehicle comes with an extensive amount of servicing and maintenance documentation, including records from its early days prior to importation to the UK. In August 2023, the vehicle underwent a comprehensive service, which included an oil change, a new timing belt kit, a new rocker cover gasket, and a crankshaft oil seal.
